On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, 2025,  Breakthrough Science Society Delhi Chapter organised a program where kids and neighbouring community people came together and had the following activities.

1. Planting trees

2. Students participated in poster-making competition and prepared posters on environmental issues,

3. Cultural programs by kids 

Dr.Jyotsna Dixit, vice-president, BSS Delhi Chapter and Mrs. Sharda Dixit, retired principal, conducted the program. Snacks were distributed at the end of the program.

As part of observance of World Environment Day, BSS Delhi Chapter organised a webinar on “Environmental Crisis: A scientific and policy-level overview”. Dr. Mainak Mondal, BSS All India Council member and post-doctoral associate in Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York, and Dr. Manabendra Nath Bera, assistant professor, IISER Mohali and National Secretariat Member were the main speakers. 

World Environment Day was observed at Pitampura Delhi, under the auspices of BSS Delhi Chapter on June 7 with the following activities.

1. ‘Nature walk’ with school students at the district park in Pitampura.

2. Group discussion on children’s observations during the nature walk, moderated by Rahul and Anubha, executive committee members, BSS Delhi Chapter 

3. Question answer session conducted by Ms Shubha Dixit and Ms Kirti Umapati, Vice-presidents, BSS Delhi Chapter 

4. PPT on life cycle of butterfly

5. Activity – Children made butterfly using origami paper.
