The BSS Kottayam Chapter, BCM College Zoology Department and Bhumi Mitra Sena Club jointly observed World Environment Day on June 12, 2025. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. KV Thomas, Principal of BCM College, who highlighted the importance of environmental conservation. Dr. T V Sajeev (Chief scientist KFRI) delivered the keynote address on “Impact of Climate Change and Biodiversity,” emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable practices.

Prof. Anil Steefen, In-charge of Bhumi Mitra Sena Club, stressed the role of individual actions in mitigating climate change. Dr. Priya Thomas, Head of the Zoology Department, discussed the impact of climate change on ecosystems and biodiversity. AG Sumeshkumar, State Executive Member of Breakthrough Science Society, emphasized the need for collective action to protect the environment.

World Environment Day was observed  in St.Joseph HSS, Karimannur, Idukky district on June 12. Anagha Sasi, Research Scholar, Thunchezhuthachan Malayalam University, Tirur delivered the keynote address on plastic pollution and environmental protection. Dr. Joe Jacob, president, Idukky Chapter of BSS inaugurated the program.
