On June 5, BSS Tripura Chapter took the initiative to distribute tree saplings among students and common people of Camperbajar, Agartala as a part of the month long Environment Day observation program. Students and common people willingly came to our office and took the saplings. State Secretary Tilak Chakraborty announced the Awareness Rally going to be held on June 14. BSS volunteers distributed leaflets in front of Agartala City Centre and a street corner meeting was held there where State Vice President Shri Raju Acharjee highlighted the causes of climate change and the role of citizens.


On June 14 BSS Tripura Chapter organised a rally and street corner meeting. The rally began from the pedestal of Shahid Kshudiram statue in front of Tripura State Museum and ended at Paradise Chowmuhani. Prof Purnendu Kanti Das, Prof Priyasankar Choudhury and Dr Swapan Kumar Das, Advisory Board Members of BSS Tripura Chapter were present in the rally. At the end of the rally, BSS Tripura Chapter Secretary Shri Tilak Chakraborty addressed the gathering. Prof Purnendu Kanti Das and Prof Priyasankar Choudhury spoke on climate change and consequent environmental problems and urged to build up a mighty Environment Movement. Dr Swapan Kumar Das presided. The program ended with the distribution of plant saplings among the students and the public who attended the program from various institutions.
